The little Things
In between classes at school, I go and hang out in the institute building to study. Last week I was able to meet a way nice fellow student and the sweet secretary lady. They showed me that there is usually leftover food in the fridge, and asked if I wanted a quesadilla. I have celiacs and cant eat flour products (aka gluten). The sweet secretary lady felt bad I couldn't eat the quesadillas, and went through the snacks she had at the building to see if I could have any of them ( crackers, cookies etc...). I tried to thank her so much for being so kind and trying to find something for me. But, I always keep food on me, and not to worry.
Fast forward to this week. I am back at the institute building studying. The same sweet lady comes up to me to tell me that there is lunch today at 1, and it is bbq ribs, and potatoes. She was so excited, already knowing that I CAN eat it! My heart melted, and felt so much love from this lady ( who not only have I just met the one time previous, but we could barely communicate due to a language barrier). I tried to explain to her that I have to go back to class at 1250- 230. She told me she would make a plate for me and put it in the fridge for when I get done.
Being in a new place, it can feel SO lonely! Today, God showed me once again that he does hear and answer prayers. Her kind and simple gesture of finding a food that I can eat meant the world to me. I hope that I too can be a vessel in Gods hand to help answer someone else prayers.
